The London Road Group organizes regular life drawing sessions in East Grinstead, West Sussex. The sessions are an opportunity to meet and share a model with other artists on a regular basis. This is a self-led class with no tuition, but plenty of support from other attendees if you want it.
Each session will typically start with a number of short warm-up exercises, followed by a longer pose. The longer poses will alternate between clothed and nude poses, and will repeat over two sessions to enable artists to complete paintings. (These plans are subject to change, depending on what participants want.) Each session will be run by one of the LRG organizers who will be responsible for managing time, paying the model, selecting poses, and so on.
You must bring all the materials that you need, including an easel if you want to use one.
When
The sessions are held fortnightly on Saturday mornings between 9.45-13:45: arrive at 9.45 to set up, and then start work about 10.00; finish work at 13.30, then clear up, and if there's time, a chance to see what everyone else has been working on.

How much
The Life Drawing Group is run on a not for profit basis. The price per session is £15.00, payable at the start of the session. This includes the cost of the room hire, the model fee, and plenty of tea or coffee. For your first session, there is an additional membership fee of £1 so that you are covered by our insurance. The London Road Group has club membership of the Society for All Artists, which entitles you to a discount in their shop.
How to book
If you'd like to come, you must book in advance. You can book just one session at a time. Places are limited, so book as early as possible. To book, please email londonroadgroup@yahoo.co.uk. If you have to cancel a booking, please try to find someone to take your place. If we can't fill your place, you will be liable for the session fee.
